Meeting Session with Kisarawe District Council Social Service Committee 9 March 2017
The main objective of this meeting was to meet with Kisarawe District Councillors and lobby for budget inclusion of green and gender inclusive systems in the districts development plans, aiming to raise awareness about gender and Social Inclusion in district planning and among district councillors. NGSEN aimed to explain the need for district economic and social plans to include an element of gender by focusing on benefiting all people men and women and prioritizing needs of marginalised groups.
Furthermore, the meeting focused on showing how GSI in energy planning will help address pressing problems without the need of standalone interventions, the voice of people will be clearly heard and planners can set priorities on how best the government can serve the community. Consequently, many gender related problems will be solved for example; early marriages, energy poverty, provision of social services equally etc.
